2008 AEC Tertiary Awards

It is an exciting time for the AEC. We are moving quickly. We invite you to join us. The AEC is embarking on a new era with Tertiary Scholarships in 2008. For the first time the awards will be for the duration of the degree, whether it is a 3-year Arts degree or a 5-year Law degree.

Each year the student will receive $5000 to put towards their studies with an added commitment from some sponsors to provide work experience in the industry or profession. This will enable the students develop on-site skills and knowledge, enhancing the degree’s content. It is an invaluable opportunity, both financially and generally, for the students.

We are hoping to establish 12 such scholarships with at least three coming from the NSW Department of Education and Training in support of teaching degrees. We would like to see Medical, Engineering, Health and Finance also represented.

The AEC in collaboration with Industry Partners aim to encourage NSW Indigenous Australian students to undertake tertiary studies in a NSW University.
