Special General Meeting

A Special General Meeting was held at 11am on May 22, 2011 to review the current financial position of the AEC, investigate the programs on offer and initiate accounting and reporting procedures to better meet the needs of the Board of Management.

Annual General Meeting (AGM)

The AEC AGM was held on March 28, 2011 at 6:30pm.

The Officer Bearers for 2011 are:

  • President - Janet Mooney
  • Senior Vice President - Sharon Galleguillos
  • Honorary Treasurer - Alison Mathews
  • Honorary Solicitor - Oliver Harvey
  • Vice Presidents - Terry Denzil, Bill Muir, Nigel Parbury

The 2011 Annual General Meeting will be held in March 2012

All Members will be invited to attend.

AEC/Everyday Hero Elite Sportsperson Awards

The AEC in partnership with Everyday Hero will be establishing these elite sportsperson awards early in 2009. This program will be reviewed in 2011.

Patrick White Indigenous Writers Competition

The inaugural Winners of the Patrick White Competition have been announced.

The 2011 Patrick White Competition closes on September 30, 2011. Entry forms can be found here

New Executive Officer Appointed

The AEC welcomes back Beverly Baker as its new Executive Officer. Beverly has had a long history with the AEC and served as its Executive Officer in 2003 before leaving to join Macquarie Bank.

Beverly brings a lifelong commitment to Aboriginal Education and a wealth of knowledge and skills in administration, finance and the community sector.
