The AEC is very fortunate to receive funds from benefactors and trusts which enable us to offer scholarships and program assistance to those who need it most in our communities.

For anyone interested in making a bequest or trust fund on behalf of the AEC , the AEC guarantees that 100% of any funds received will go towards the purposes set out in the bequest or trust

The Norman Catts Trust

Each year the AEC offers up to $5,000 to schools, preschools or community groups for innovative programs designed to engage, extend or retain  young Aboriginal people (birth-18 years) in and educational setting.

Patrick White Trust

The AEC was a nominated beneficiary of the estate of the late Patrick White.

In his name, each year the AEC hosts the Patrick White Young Indigenous writing Competition. Prizes and Encouragement Awards are offered to students in each year from Kindergarten to Year 12 for a short story, poem or play.

Margaret Ida Howie Fund

The latest additions to our portfolio are the Margaret Ida Howie Awards which have been created out of funds received from the Margaret Ida Howie Estate.

These funds are dedicated to assisting Aboriginal women  improve their lives through education at a tertiary institution in NSW
