Margaret Ida Howie Scholarship
Awards from the Margaret Ida Howie Fund are made to Indigenous Australian women in New South Wales who are undertaking tertiary study. Awards are made in the following categories:
Margaret Ida Howie Scholarship
Up to 4 Scholarships valued at $5000 each are awarded to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women who are undertaking an approved course of study at a university in New South Wales.
Margaret Ida Howie Course Assistance Fund
These awards of up to $1000 each are to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women who are studying at a tertiary institution in NSW, to attend a conference or to access resources which are required to complete their course of study.
Margaret Ida Howie Incidentals Support Fund
These awards are to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women who are undertaking a course at a TAFE in NSW, which will enable them to enter the workforce. Applicants are invited to apply for up to $1000 to assist with the cost of:
- Childcare
- Textbooks
- Equipment
- Travel Expenses
In accordance with the terms of the Margaret Ida Howie Bequest applications are assessed on financial need and single women with children are a priority.
